Sorry, for misleading you at the beginning, but NOW I remembered... This is exactly what I went wrong... even the very first time when the Fictional mode has been implemented... I elected NOT to own a team, that this error has been prompted... Many Thanks for helping, guiding, correcting us to a higher status of truly enjoying this Game!!!
Now, if we can get John to verify his selection... If I remembered correctly, he always is neutral toward the games...

I also did not pick any team in any of my associations as I was going to be in a what I understood would be neutral "commissioner" mode - if you HAVE to have one team chosen it needs a program block to stop it moving on if no team is selected surely ?
I set up a new association this morning in 2016 and chose Boston, went into the schedule and chose sim one week and all works fine so far The pop up window to set your auto sim options came up and all games played. Tried unattended auto play for a week and that's worked fine to. So looks like that was the issue and not a windows issue. Seems that the message - and screen shot Jabez posted - which is what I was getting, is ACTUALLY advising it cant move on to show the auto sim options screen because no team is chosen.
Maybe should add that ( and trust me I was not trying to do this here !) I have been involved with playtesting a LOT of sports games programs over time including current ones and renowned for "breaking them" by NOT following the expected path but doing what the program allowed although wasn't intended and hadn't been programmed for !

Then you have come to the right place! That's just the kind of testing Strategy Baseball needs. Most of us old-timers are "set in our ways" in how we play-test the game. And what that means is that there are many things that go untested. I welcome the feedback and look forward to your input.
